Here’s a link to stream the classic silent comedy feature: Steamboat Bill, Jr. (1928). This is one of the best of Buster Keaton’s feature-length comedies. It includes the famous windstorm scene where the side of a building falls around Buster with very little clearance on either side. The director refused to watch the shot.

Here’s a link to stream another top-notch Betty Boop cartoon: Minnie the Moocher (1932). This one features a fine performance of the title song by Cab Calloway and his orchestra. The fluid movements of the walrus were based on Calloway’s own dance steps, captured and converted to animated movements via the Fleischer brothers’ leading-edge rotoscoping techniques.
